Cindy Kent is Vice President of Marketing for Medtronic, Inc.—the world’s leading medical technology company. Her teams lead the development of brand strategy as well as the tactical execution of global marketing initiatives for Gastro/Urinary (GU) and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) therapies within the Neuromodulation Sector. Cindy was promoted to this role in June 2009. Previously, Cindy successfully led marketing for the flagship product, InterStim Therapy® for the treatment of incontinence, resulting in continuous, consecutive quarters of greater than 20% growth.
Before joining Medtronic in January 2007, Cindy worked at Eli Lilly and Company for 15 years in various functions including Manufacturing, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing.
In 2007, Cindy was one of 50 leaders selected for the German Marshall Fellowship. During her four week European tour, Cindy represented the United States to officials in Germany, Turkey, Slovakia and Belgium. In 2008, Cindy was recognized by the Twin Cities Business Journal’s “Top 40 under Forty” in recognition of both her professional and civic contributions. She is the Chairperson for the Twin Cities’ American Heart Association Go Red Business Outreach Committee, as well as serves on the marketing advisory board for the Girl Scouts of River Valley. Cindy is a 2008 graduate of the Executive Leadership Committee’s Talent Pipeline Initiative and was recently one of twenty leaders selected to participate in Medtronic’s Global Leaders Program where participants spent several months on projects aimed at improving business operations in Brazil.
Cindy holds an MBA in Marketing and a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Leadership, both from Vanderbilt University. In addition, she has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University. Cindy is also an ordained minister.
She is married to Kelton and has two step-children, Joffrey (14) and Jaron (22).
