Dr. Ronald Berkman became the sixth president of Cleveland State University in April 2009. Previously, Dr. Berkman had been Provost and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Florida International University in Miami, positions held since 1997. He also served as Executive Dean of the College of Health and Urban Affairs at FIU. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University in 1977. Dr. Berkman has a great vision for CSU, which includes a focus on healthcare, research, sustaining urban communities, and partnering with surrounding schools, businesses, hospitals, and other organizations.
