Steve Roberts is the author of From Every End of This Earth and My Fathers’ Houses. He has worked as a journalist for over forty years, and appears regularly as a political analyst on the ABC radio network and National Public Radio. Steve has taught politics and writing at George Washington University for the last 20 years; he often counsels young interfaith couples and has actually performed two weddings.

Cokie Roberts is a political commentator for ABC News and a senior news analyst for NPR. From 1996 to 2002, she and Sam Donaldson co-anchored the weekly ABC interview program, This Week. She is the bestselling author of We Are Our Mothers’ Daughters, Ladies of Liberty, and Founding Mothers.

Cokie and Steve Roberts are the New York Times bestselling authors of From This Day Forward. They write a weekly column syndicated in newspapers across the country by United Media and are also contributing editors to USA Weekend. The parents of two children and grandparents of six, Cokie and Steve live in Bethesda, Maryland.

In their first book together, the New York Times bestseller From This Day Forward (Morrow, 2000), Cokie and Steve shared their experiences as an interfaith couple and how they’ve made it work over the years. When they met in college, they both believed their different traditions—she is Catholic, he is Jewish—would prevent them from ever getting married. Yet in 1966, they found themselves together in the garden of Cokie’s girlhood home, standing under a flower-covered chuppah. Almost forty-five years later, they have learned not only to respect and reconcile the religious traditions they once thought might divide them, but to celebrate those traditions as well. Steve’s family had never held a Passover Seder until he married Cokie; it was their mutual interest in and discovery of each other’s religious backgrounds that led the couple to begin celebrating the holiday. Now Cokie and Steve host an annual Passover Seder that is attended by upwards of forty guests and has become a Washington tradition.
