Combat Leadership: The Role of Women in the U.S. Military


 

Brigadier General Lori Reynolds is the Commanding General, Marine Corps Recruit Depot; and Commanding General, Eastern Recruiting Region.  She is the first female Marine commander of Recruiting Depot Parris Island, where she took command in June 2011.

Brigadier General Lori Reynolds was commissioned in the Marine Corps in May 1986 after graduating from the United States Naval Academy. She attended Marine Corps University’s Command and Control Systems Course (1994-1995), the Naval War College (2000-2001), and the Army War College (2005-2006).

 She has deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. In March 2009, she assumed command of the I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Headquarters Group at Camp Pendleton, CA. She deployed the Group to Camp Leatherneck Afghanistan from March 2010 to March 2011, where the Group supported the efforts of I MEF Forward/Regional Command Southwest in Helmand Province.

Brigadier General Lori Reynolds is a Communication Officer. Her hometown is Baltimore MD.
