New Leaders > Become Involved
As New Leaders, younger members immediately
have a vehicle through which to become highly visible in the
organization. There are many ways to offer time, energy, and
creativity that fit conveniently into a young professional’s
schedule. The only requirement for active involvement is to
become a City Club member. Members can join the New Leaders
Programming Committee or serve as a New Leaders Liaison to
an existing City Club committee. Additionally, leadership
opportunities exist in the New Leaders Cabinet.
New Leaders Programming Committee
The New Leaders Programming Committee plans and executes
alternative programming in unison with the mission of The
City Club. Committee members generate topics, invite speakers,
coordinate logistical details, and promote the events. The
level of commitment needed to be an active New Leader varies,
from offering programming ideas to acting as event chair to
coordinating marketing efforts throughout the year. The common
thread among New Leaders is a sincere desire to promote the
mission of The City Club.
The New Leaders Cabinet
The Cabinet provides overall leadership and direction
for the New Leaders. An appointed Chair heads the Cabinet
and also holds an ex-officio position on The City Club Board
of Directors.
The Cabinet oversees event programming
and budgetary matters and also hosts a bi-annual Steering
Committee Meeting that includes New Leaders Liaisons to City
Club committees and advisors from The City Club Board of Directors.
