First choose five days you want to commit to being your Five Days for Democracy. Then use the links below to see challenges you can choose from each day. Invite friends, classmates, colleagues, or family to join you for the challenges and you can share what you learn each day.
Commit to completing a challenge each day or tackle them all. Share your thoughts in social media, partner up with a friend to complete the week, or keep a private journal about what you learn. However you choose to spend the five days, we hope it helps deepen your commitment to being civically-engaged.
Feel free to share your experience with us at firstname.lastname@example.org or #5days4democracy.
Our deepest gratitude to the public libraries that dove into this project with us and helped bring it to life with special thanks to Cleveland Public Library for designing the logo and to the team at OverDrive for their creative input and technical support building our book collection.
And special gratitude to the YWCA Greater Cleveland. This project is a result of being inspired by the YWCA Cleveland’s 21 Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge. Several of us participated in that project and appreciated its authenticity and power. That program grew out of inspiration from Food Solutions New England who presented the first 21-Day Racial Equity Challenge in 2014 based on an exercise from a book by Dr. Eddie Moore and Debby Irving. We are grateful to all these people and organizations for their inspiration.
