Dates to Save: An Update on Primary Debates
We have a few important updates. As we said in our last blog post on debates, we have committed to hosting three debates this primary season. Here are some details.
The United States Senate Democratic Primary Debate will be held Monday, February 22 at noon at the City Club. Kelli Prather and P.G. Sittenfeld are both participating. Former Governor Ted Strickland has declined our invitation. This will be a luncheon event.
The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Democratic Primary Debate will be held Tuesday, February 23 at noon at the City Club. Incumbent Prosecutor Timother J. McGinty and Parma Safety Director Michael C. O'Malley are both participating. This will be a luncheon event.
The 24th State Senate District Republican Primary Debate will be held Thursday, February 25th in the evening at a location inside the district (TBD). State Representative Nan Baker, Former State Representative Matt Dolan, and State Represetnative Mike Dovilla have all agreed to participate.
When we have links for tickets and other information (moderators, how to submit questions, etc.), we'll share it as soon as we can. If the committee chooses to do any other debates, you'll find out about it here on the blog. If you're interested in reading a bit about why debates matter, the editorial board at the Northeast Ohio Media Group made a strong case in their reaction to Governor Strickland's decision not to debate.
