Update on 2016 Congressional Debates
The City Club of Cleveland has reached out to Republican and Democratic candidates in the 9th, 11th, 14th and 16th congressional districts in hopes of scheduling debates in those races. The incumbent office-holders in those races--Congresswoman Marcia Fudge (D-11), Congressman Dave Joyce (R-14), Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-9), and Congressman Jim Renacci (R-16)--have all declined our invitations. Challengers Beverly Goldstein, Ph.D. (Republican, running in the 11th district), Don Larson (Republican, running in the 9th), Keith Mundy (Democrat, running in the 16th), and Michael Wager (Democrat, running in the 14th) have all accepted our invitations. So that we can accommodate challengers in all four races we will host a Congressional Candidates Forum on October 17th, from 5-7 p.m., here at the City Club. Admission is free, and light refreshments and a cash bar will be available.
