City Club Launches New Dinner + Dialogue Series
The City Club of Cleveland is committed to creating conversations of consequence that help democracy thrive – and we’re always trying to discover new ways and places to bring people together to talk about issues facing our community, our nation, and our world.
In that vein, we’re so excited to announce the launch of Dinner + Dialogue, a new monthly series created by a group of young and enthusiastic City Club members, that features an in-depth, less formal conversation with a local leader on a critical issue facing our community - over dinner!
Our inaugural event is Wednesday, November 16 at 6 p.m. at Spice Kitchen + Bar and features a three course prix fixe dinner and a conversation on food insecurity with Kristin Warzocha, President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
The City Club has hosted several forums on poverty, but has not specifically tackled food insecurity. It’s a sobering juxtaposition when you think about it - Cleveland has become a very food-focused city due to the merits of our chefs, our restaurants and breweries, and the increase in local food-related small businesses. We also live in a state with many, many farms and have access to locally-grown produce and locally-raised meat, fish, and poultry. Yet one in six Northeast Ohioans don’t have access to basic food. How can we better ensure everyone shares in our region’s bounty?
Dinner + Dialogue speakers, topics, and locations will change monthly. Curious? Come dine and dialogue with us on November 16. Intrigued about how we choose topics and speakers? Join our committee. Email me at email@example.com.
