Staff Spotlight: Adam Crawford

Alyssa Raybuck

Staff Spotlight: Adam Crawford

Name: Adam Crawford

Position on the City Club Staff: Executive Chef

Neighborhood/Suburb where you live: Garfield Heights by way of Maple Heights

Tell us a bit about yourself: I’m a graduate of Johnson and Wales University with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service Management. I have been cooking professionally for 18 years. My favorite thing about cooking is that a meal can be an event all on its own or it can be a great companion to a conversation. I’m also an avid reader. And by reader I mean comic books, lol.

How long have you been on the team of the City Club? Seven years as of April 2019

What is your favorite part about working at the City Club? My favorite part(s) of working at the City Club is the emphasis of freedom to be yourself and everyone on the staff.

Tell us about a recent forum that you enjoyed: One of my favorite forums was the forum by Paula Williams and her son Jonathan entitled “She’s Still My Dad.” It was truly insightful and at times challenging but in the conclusion I feel as if I got a better understanding than I brought into it. That’s the hallmark of a good forum.

What’s one of your favorite ‘hidden gems’ in Greater Cleveland? Sweetly Shoibhan’s Bakery and Bubble Tea in Garfield Heights. Recently opened and the pastries are dynamite!

What tip would you share with someone who is attending their first forum at the City Club? Come with an open mind and willingness to dialogue with an effort to learn, understand and grow.

Nice profile of Adam! I am a big fan of his lunches! I always get and enjoy the hot meal. The City Club lunches that are served off-site pale in comparison to the ones at the City Club Building!
