We Miss You | Friday's Virtual Forum
Friends of the City Club,
We’re thinking a lot about all of you, and I woke up this morning wanting to reach out and say hello. Admittedly, it’s strange not to be expecting to see many of you at a forum this week, and to know that we don’t actually know exactly when we’ll be able to welcome you back to the City Club for a forum. As you probably have heard, we’re doing virtual forums in our regular Friday time slot. This Friday, we’re discussing the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the solutions that are being brought to bear to address that challenge. Be sure to tune in—we’ll be live on our website and live on 90.3 FM WCPN.
Every Friday, you’ll still be able to count on a Friday forum conversation that will engage you and inform you and help you for the days ahead. We know that helping to keep you connected in this time of crisis is some of the most important work we can do.
I want to thank our partners at ideastream for working with us to get forums on the air and online, and I also thank the sponsors and members who stepped up to support your City Club as we continue the conversation. You can help, too, with a donation of your own, by sharing the conversations with your friends and neighbors, and by just being a member of this great institution.
Our City Club has served the community for more than 107 years, and we’ve been through a lot—the Great Depression, two World Wars, and an untold number of economic swings and political challenges. We’ve been there for you and this community through it all, and that’s still our commitment—to keep you connected, and to make sure that as we get to the other side of this, your City Club is ready to bring you back together—in person—for conversations of consequence that help democracy thrive.
Thank you.
