It's Summertime in the CLE! The 2025 City Club Outdoor Summer Series is Back!
Every summer since 2016, the City Club has packed up our gong and taken over some of our favorite outdoor public spaces. We're proud to return to Playhouse Square Plaza once again this summer for our FREE Outdoor Summer Series. This year, we will have the chance to hear directly from some of our region's leaders on topics that make our city uniquely ours: Superman, the local arts scene, Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere, and, of course, our coastland.
So, pack a lunch, or pick one up at one of the nearby restaurants, and join us under the chandelier every Wednesday starting July 9th through July 30th at 11:45am - 1:00pm. Take a look at the forums below, and let us know if you're coming by RSVPing at the link! It's not required, but it helps us prepare and keeps you updated!
July 9th - Cleveland is the New Metropolis—A Superman Forum!
Last summer, our city played host to DC Studios' filming of the upcoming film Superman. Early trailer footage gives Cleveland much love, putting many of our city's landmarks front and center. Join us for a conversation moderated by Ideastream's Mike McIntyre on Cleveland's film industry, Superman's roots, and a much-anticipated downtown statue honoring The Man of Steel himself.
July 16th - Supporting the Arts of Cleveland—Borderlight Festival is Back!
The 2025 Borderlight Festival returns to downtown Cleveland, July 16-19. Join us as we share the stage and showcase local artists featured in the Festival whose work inspires and celebrates the diversity of the human experience.
July 23rd - From Acts to Eats: The Power of Kindness and “Something Good” with Ricky Smith
Most known for "Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere," this summer Ricky Smith launched his latest feel-good venture: Something Good Social Kitchen—a casual walkup food stand in Playhouse Square Plaza. Join us as we hear from Ricky on entrepreneurship and what it really means to do "something good."
July 30th - Cleveland to Coastland: Connecting Our Waterfronts' Future
Cleveland is repositioning its future as a dual waterfront city. Join us as we reflect on the past, present, and future visions to transform our city into “Coastland”. The conversation will also offer insights on placemaking, architecture, and real estate development and share impactful ways to transform connectivity between the shores and core.
Special thanks to this year's City Club Outdoor Summer Series Presenting Sponsor Thompson Hine for their generous support of this free series.
This series is also a part of City Club in the Community sponsored by Bank of America.
