City Club CFO Julie Kelly to retire
Transitions are inevitable. Whenever you build a strong team, there will be a point when a key member of that team is ready for their next chapter. That next chapter is very close for our colleague Julie Kelly. Julie has been City Club’s Chief Financial Officer since 2012, and today, with all the mixed emotions you’d expect, we are sharing this announcement that she will retire early next year.
Julie has been an incredible partner and colleague. She arrived at the City Club during the club’s centennial year and set about updating, modernizing, and, in some respects, rebuilding the club’s finances. I credit her with creating the strong foundation of fiscal management that has underpinned all of the City Club’s success over the last decade—our growth, our ability to be nimble and responsive to community needs, and, perhaps most importantly, our success with the Guardians of Free Speech Campaign and construction of our current home at Playhouse Square. No doubt, Julie would add to that list 13 years of clean audits.
This is an important moment for the City Club, as we prepare to find someone to whom Julie can hand off the baton. We are working with our executive search partners at Ratliff & Taylor, who have helped us prepare this role description. If you’re interested—or if you know someone who might be, please check it out.
