The City Club of Cleveland names Richard Pogue first Emeritus Director

The City Club of Cleveland is proud to recognize Richard Pogue as its first emeritus director, honoring his outstanding leadership, deep commitment, and lasting impact on the organization.
Over the years, the City Club has been supported by dedicated individuals whose service on the Board of Directors has helped shape both the organization and its role in the community. In recognition of these contributions, the Board has established the honorary title of Emeritus Director a designation that reflects both gratitude for past service and an ongoing connection to the City Club’s future.
Richard Pogue has played a vital role in advancing the mission of the City Club as a member, director, board president, donor, co-chair of the 1999 capital campaign, honorary co-chair of the Guardians of Free Speech campaign, and a consistent champion of civic dialogue across political differences.
“We are grateful to establish the emeritus directors, as it allows us to honor the leaders who have brought the City Club this far,” said Dan Moulthrop CEO of the City Club of Cleveland. “People like Dick Pogue are the giants on whose shoulders we stand. It’s a privilege to name him our first emeritus director. His contributions have left a lasting mark on our organization, and this recognition reflects both our deep gratitude and our excitement for his continued connection to the City Club.”
As part of this effort to maintain and deepen engagement with past leaders, the Board has created this new class of emeritus directors, with additional honorees to be announced in the near future.
