Vladimir Ashkenazy, a Soviet-born Jewish concert pianist, emigrated to the West in 1963 and became a citizen of Iceland in 1972. He expanded his professional career into conducting and is currently the chief conductor, Deutsches Symphonic Orchestra, Berlin. He discusses his experiences at the City Club.
