The Dangers of Smoking

Joseph Califano, the 12th U.S. Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare under President Jimmy Carter, initiated the crusade against smoking. His relentless anti-smoking, anti-tobacco industry activism ultimately led to his firing by President Carter in 1979.
