"This is a campaign for families who can no longer make ends meet on middle incomes, for the minority who are not white and the majority who are women, who still bear the burdens of discrimination. " – Senator Ted Kennedy

Senator Ted Kennedy, Democratic candidate for President of the United States, addresses the City Club on what would have been John F. Kennedy's 63rd birthday.

He initially planned to deliver a major foreign policy address. Instead, upon learning President Carter would also be in Cleveland on this day, Senator Kenndy spoke on the "character of the campaign, what it means for our political system, and the future of this country."

The ideas expressed in City Club forums are those of the speakers, and not of the City Club, Ideastream Public Media, or their sponsors.
