Major General Richard V. Secord, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, discusses the debate on whether the federal government should sell the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) to Saudi Arabia. Although a controversial issue among the public, Major General Secord argues that the sale of AWACS to Saudi Arabia will make a significant contribution to U.S. security and the security of our allies, and that this security boost was the President's central reason for selling AWACS.
