Eric Gordon gives his State of the Schools speech almost a year after passing a historic 15-mill levy for Cleveland Schools in November 2012. He discusses the investments that have been made so far, as well as the plans for the future. Gordon explains that Cleveland has one of the most veteran work forces in urban education, and one year after across the board layoffs, the city has recalled many of its teachers. He also speaks about his decision to end the conversation about who is responsible for the performance of a particular school, and to begin the process of making sure every Cleveland student is given the opportunity for a great education.
