T.R. Reid, Reporter, Documentary Film Correspondent and author, The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper and Fairer Health Care. T.R. Reid discusses the reasons behind the United States being the only industrialized democracy in the world that doesn't cover the health of everyone of its citizens. He highlights a number of health systems around the world, including Germany's, in which there are private insurers that are regulated so they can't deny claims and have to pay all claims within three days. Reid points out that around 25,000 Americans die every year because they can't afford medical treatments, saying that he believes Americans will do the right thing when we realize what we're doing is wrong.
