"There is nothing more essential to the mind than the robust exchange of ideas." – Anne Neal

Responding to recent upheaval on college campuses against commencement speakers who might be considered too "controversial" for graduation day, Anne D. Neal, co-founder and president of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, stated that the preoccupation with political correctness is counter-effective. She notes in an interview with the Washington Post: "the academy, in too many places, has become one-sided, coercive and hostile to a multiplicity of perspectives," suppressing the circulation of ideas that originally served as the building blocks of these institutions. Join us for a thought-provoking discussion on political correctness in higher education.
