Proven Models of Music for Educational Growth

Music education, as well as education in other arts, has engaged a myriad of students, enhancing their educational achievement - including in the “3Rs.” It has also improved behavioral and social engagement to the benefit of their overall educational environment. Proven Models of Music For Educational Growth will explore four Cleveland-area programs that strive to achieve these goals.

Join Kimberly Meier-Sims, Director of the Sato Center for Suzuki Studies, member of the violin faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music, and registered Violin Teacher Trainer through the Suzuki Association of the Americas; Stephen Sims, DMA, instructor in the Sato Center for Suzuki Studies, Adjunct/Secondary Conservatory instructor at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and teacher for El Sistema University Circle; and Ariel Clayton, director of Rainbow Strings, a violin program based at Chambers Elementary School in East Cleveland, and also an in-home teacher, in a conversation moderated by retired teacher Meryl Johnson.
