"It's not just a different city in the improvements. It's a city that feels good about itself." – JoAnn Davidson

When the Republican National Convention arrives in Cleveland in 2016, it will be the first time in 80 years that a political convention has come to town. Times have certainly changed. In 1936, Cleveland was the sixth largest city - an emerging industrial giant with a population of more than 900,000 people. There was no television news, no Internet and no social media.

Today Cleveland may be the 45th largest city, but it is on the cusp of a resurgence, both physically and economically.

Join Jo Ann Davidson, Chairwoman of the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, and former Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, as we kick-off our #RNC2016 speaker series! She will discuss the political, economic, journalistic and social implications of hosting a political convention in the 21st century.
