"A community is not judged by how it treats the wealthy. It is judged by how it treats the poor and incarcerated." – Bryan Stevenson

Join us for a free Community Conversation, hosted by Facing History and Ourselves and The Allstate Foundation, with Bryan A. Stevenson, attorney, human rights activist and author of Just Mercy. Stevenson is one of the country's most visionary legal thinkers and social justice advocates.

A MacArthur fellow and founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, Stevenson is a leader of the movement to fight mass incarceration in the United States. His TED talk on the subject of injustice has been viewed nearly two million times.

Stevenson's memoir, Just Mercy, tells the story of a young lawyer advocating for justice while fighting against extreme punishments and an unbalanced system. The stories he tells are heartbreaking, yet inspiring, and motivate audiences to take action and make changes in their own lives.
