You don't have to be in education or work for an economic development agency to have a role to play in the growth of the workforce in any community. In fact, according to Kirsten Ellenbogen, Ph.D., if we relied only on schools and the experiences they provide, our workers would be ill-prepared for the jobs of today, much less those of tomorrow.
