Seventy years ago, on September 2, 1945, Japan formally surrendered to the Allies, ending World War II. "None of us knew then,” war correspondent Theodore H. White later wrote in his memoirs, “that this was the last war America would cleanly, conclusively win. We thought it was the last war ever."

What did World War II mean for the United States? How did it shape our alliances? How are the effects of World War II still reverberating across the world , 70 years later and how may they be starting to shift?

Join us for a panel discussion with Kathryn C. Lavelle, Ellen and Dixon Long Professor in World Affairs at Case Western Reserve University and Skip Engal, moderated by WPCN's Tony Ganzer, on the legacies of World War II.
