"The secret to money laundering is distance. The further away it is, the more distortion." – Valdis Krebs

The Panama Papers are one of the largest data leaks in history: 2.6 terabytes that include 11.5 million documents from the world’s fourth biggest offshore law firm, Mossack Fonseca. Contained within the unprecedented volume of files are a network that expose how some of the global political elite use offshore bank accounts and shell companies to conceal wealth and avoid domestic taxes.

What effects will this newfound knowledge have on the credibility of world leaders and the fight against corruption? Join The City Club of Cleveland, the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, International Partners in Mission, and the Northeast Ohio Consortium for Middle Eastern Studies (NOCMES) for a discussion on the Panama Papers and their global ramifications.
