An upstander: a person who speaks or acts in support of an individual or cause, particularly someone who intervenes on behalf of a person being attacked or bullied.
In each choice we make, we decide the question of how we want to be in the world and how we want the world to be for ourselves and others. Our choices—big or small—create the experiences of others and ourselves. An upstander makes a choice that choice makes the world a better place.
Join us for the second annual City Club Youth Forum for elementary school students on how the power of our lives and how our choices can make the world a better place. Panelists will examine how they have been upstanders in their professional and personal lives and how ultimately their choices have shaped the experience of others and our communities.
