Freedom of worship is the first right outlined in the American Constitution: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Yet, spiritual and religious freedom continues to be a complex and divisive issue here and beyond.
This program is the third in our series of town hall events in which the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) is partnering with For Freedoms, an artist-run initiative founded by artists Hank Willis Thomas and Eric Gottesman, and The City Club of Cleveland to create safe platforms for topical conversations that seek to encourage a more active, collaborative, inclusive, and empathic community.
Join people of different beliefs at this important For Freedoms Town Hall led by Gottesman and Willis Thomas who, with a panel of local and national experts, will explore religious expression, restrictions, and agency in America.
This conversation will be moderated by City Club CEO Dan Moulthrop.
