"As we look at federal or state budget issues, we need to remember culture is who we are. You’re not just cutting money, you’re cutting the fabric of who we are." – Barb Ewing

What is culture? Why does it matter? And how can it help us, here, today?

Cellist Yo-Yo Ma has said that "Culture — the arts, the humanities, the sciences — helps us to understand our environment, each other, and ourselves. It helps us to imagine a better future. It helps turn 'them' into 'us.’”

At a time when the pace of change challenges us not only to find new solutions, but also to agree on them, culture offers us a source of creativity and connection. Culture can help us to collaborate and find common ground in addressing the most important issues facing our society.

Join us for a conversation about what culture means in the Mahoning Valley, and how it can help to revitalize our community.

Local music and dance artists from throughout the Mahoning Valley will perform from 5:30 p.m.

The Warren Philharmonic and Youngstown Symphony Orchestra will be joining forces in a special musical event with Yo-Yo Ma at 6 p.m. The CCMV forum runs 7-8 p.m.
