Jamael Tito Brown was elected the 51st Mayor of the City of Youngstown on November 7th, 2017. During his campaign, he pledged to make Youngstown better by attracting more living-wage jobs and new innovative commerce, ensuring safety in all neighborhoods, and decreasing brain drain.

Since taking office, Youngstown was awarded a multi-million federal BUILD grant to develop multimodal access between key employers in Mahoning Valley as well as being chosen for the $2.25M Comeback Capital Fund which creates a bridge between Silicon Valley investors and Midwest startups.

But the city still faces challenges including an aging and declining population with a 40 percent poverty rate, a stagnant tax base, and the loss of major employers which threaten the city's economic future. What's next for Youngstown?

Join us as Mayor Brown delivers his first State of Youngstown address.

This forum will be held at the Ford Family Recital Hall at the Eleanor Beecher Flad Pavilion.
