"It’s not about making government digital - it’s about challenging how government works." – Jennifer Pahlka

Can technology be a force for good — in government? Jennifer Pahlka, Founder and Executive Director of Code for America (CfA), thinks so. Described by The Washington Post as “the technology world’s equivalent of the Peace Corps or Teach for America,” CfA, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization, engages community organizers, developers, and designers in technology to help governments better serve constituents.

Since its inception in 2009, CfA has created programs that encourage collective action to help feed the hungry, reduce unnecessary incarceration, and redesign workforce training. Most recently, it is working to clear 54,000 marijuana convictions in Los Angeles.

Join us as Pahlka shares how CfA's innovative approach is tackling some of government's biggest challenges and social problems in the digital age.
