Over the last 25 years, green building has grown into a trillion-dollar industry, and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) has become the most widely used green building certification program in the world.
As awareness of climate change and the urgent need for sustainable practices continues to evolve, so too does the global green building market. In 2019, the U.S. Green Building Council announced the Living Standard campaign, a storytelling initiative focused on moving beyond materials, construction and efficiency to people and raising their quality of life.
It's part of a dramatic shift in language and storytelling, one designed to ensure that communities across the globe understand that sustainability cannot be limited to the physical spaces in which we live and work; it must also play a critical role in how we lead our lives.
Join us as Mahesh Ramanujam, President and CEO of the U.S. Green Building Council, sits down with ideastream's Justin Glanville to discuss why building a better narrative is at the core of building a universal standard of living for all.
