"Brain drain," the migration of talented, educated, and/or creative young people out of a region, is one of the top concerns among employers in the Mahoning Valley. For the last decade, businesses, economic development organizations, schools, and post-secondary institutions have been working on strategies to keep young minds in the region to help bring our economy into the future. The Business Journal has partnered with those institutions to bring us Brain Gain – a 15-month program to report on what’s happening and provide the resources needed for the community to get involved.
For the program to be successful, it’s imperative to know what our young people are thinking. What are their interests, goals, and aspirations? The Business Journal has begun by conducting panel discussions at local high schools to get this information right from the source: the students.
Join us for a unique Views & Brews forum as learn from the students themselves what they see as the future of the Mahoning Valley.
