Life on college campuses looks markedly different this fall as higher education deals with the ongoing issues resulting from the global health pandemic. University leaders have grappled for months with questions around how and when to re-open and how to secure the safety of students, faculty, and staff while also providing a quality education. Some colleges and universities have moved to remote-only education for the fall semester while others are exploring a hybrid approach that combines remote and in-person instruction.
Harlan M. Sands was named President of Cleveland State University (CSU) — which enrolls approximately 16,000 students annually — in June, 2018. He will share the extensive planning process CSU has undertaken to ensure a safe return to campus utilizing a hybrid, data driven approach. President Sands will also explain how the lessons learned about our new environment, ourselves, and the changing needs of our society will allow CSU to reimagine the future and come out of this stronger and even more ready to serve their students, partner with our community, and build our collective future.
