"The American people have a voice and that voice is speaking loud and clear for the current administration to end their current tactics." – Patrick Espinosa

The Department of Homeland Security has escalated immigration enforcement in recent months, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers conducting raids in Los Angeles, Chicago, Portland, and most recently Minneapolis, where ICE agents fatally shot two U.S. citizens, Renée Good and Alex Pretti, detained countless citizens and legal immigrants, including multiple children.

Those incidents have sparked widespread protests, bipartisan criticism in Congress, where Democrats have moved to block funding for the agency, and multiple lawsuits, including from the states of Minnesota and Illinois. A federal judge in Minnesota said that ICE had violated nearly 100 court orders.

In Ohio, Haitian immigrants in Springfield are bracing for ICE activity as their Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is set to expire on February 3rd; and immigrant communities across the state are facing increased anxiety over ICE enforcement in the Buckeye State.

Join us at the Happy Dog as we hear from legal experts and community leadership on civil rights, civil liberties, and what this moment means for our nation.
