Herb Borstein was one of the founders and Chief Financial Officer of American Seaway Foods. He also served as CFO of several other corporations, including General Trucking and Aurora Equipment.
He attended Ohio State University and received B.S. degree from Western Reserve University. Mr. Borstein was in the Navy during World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific. At home, he was active in local affairs and was a member of the Finance Committee of the University Heights-Cleveland Heights Board of Education. Mr. Borstein passed away in 2000.
Nettie Borstein has served as president of the League of Women Voters of Cleveland Heights-University Heights, as well as a board member of the Ohio State League and the Educational Fund of Cleveland League. She was named Citizen of the Year by the city of University Heights.
The Borsteins have supported League endeavors both in the Cleveland area and in South Palm Beach.
