More than 100 years ago, at its first meeting, 78 subscribers contributed $10 each to help found The City Club of Cleveland. Their initial investment has grown to support producing forums featuring more than 7,000 speakers including nearly every sitting U.S. President since Ronald Regan, University Presidents, activists, elected officials, writers, and performers, all of whom have participated in open, vibrant dialogue with community members.
Today, free speech champions continue to make contributions to The City Club Forum Fund, our organization’s endowment, to help ensure that this prized “citadel of free speech” is here for generations to come.
A planned gift helps to secure the future of The City Club of Cleveland by providing long term support that can help us meet future challenges and continue to be a beacon of free speech in our community.
Planned giving is easy and accessible.
You can make the City Club a beneficiary in your will or life insurance policy, donate stock or a paid-up insurance policy, establish a funded forum, or begin contributing to a planned gift.
Our partnership with The Cleveland Foundation makes it possible for donors to give directly to our endowment, establish a charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust or charitable lead trust to benefit The City Club of Cleveland.
