Youthquestion

Often the questions posed by students at our forums are among the most pointed and resonant questions. Over 30,000 students have attended City Club forums through our Student Participation program since its inception more than 30 years ago.

The City Club has an ongoing commitment to sharing its work with our region's youngest citizens. Student participation at the City Club has grown into a mainstay and has become a very important component in our educational outreach initiatives. Student participation provides students with hands-on exposure to lessons about citizenship, civics, and history. Students participants not only learn about current affairs, they learn how to analyze complex issues facing society and how to express a mature point of view.

All on-site forums are open to students for free and include lunch. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m., forums begin at 12 p.m. and conclude at 1 p.m.

If you want to bring a group of high school students to the City Club, just follow these 4 steps:

1. Take a look at upcoming City Club forums at www.cityclub.org/forums

2. Choose a forum that looks interesting and is held at the City Club.

3. Email Ariana Smith at arianasmith@cityclub.org with the total number of students AND adult chaperones in your reservation or call 216.621.0082.

4. Attend the forum!

Educator Testimonial

"The City Club of Cleveland Forum is an integral part of my Honors Academy curriculum at my school. Each month, students are able to hear from local and national leaders on a variety of topics. In addition, they are able to learn how to interact with professionals in a social setting. The best part about the Forum is the discussion that happens on the way home, as students reflect on what they have heard.

-Becky Slack, Educator at Lutheran West High School

High School and College students participated in a Student Engagement Session with Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg and Mayor Justin Bibb at the City Club of Cleveland on December 9, 2024

Students from throughout our region attend City Club forums for free thanks to generous support from

George W. Codrington Charitable Foundation
